Recreational Therapy (RT) is an evidence-based clinical service. As a CTRS-BH, I use a standardized process—assessment, individualized treatment planning, intervention, and outcome evaluation—to help clients reduce functional limitations and participation barriers related to chronic pain conditions, stress, and co-occurring behavioral-health needs. Interventions are activity-based and goal-directed (e.g., graded community reintegration, behavioral activation, skills practice in natural settings, expressive/creative therapies consistent with RT), and are delivered 1:1 or in groups in coordination with the care team. Services include clinical documentation, collaboration with referring providers, transition planning including personalized leisure resource and utilization plan, and client/family education to support carryover and community participation.

Therapists, educators, healthcare workers, and helpers of all kinds often come to Rooted Wild to reconnect with their own needs and creative spark following burnout. Our programs offer space to recharge, reflect, and root back into purpose. Like many of the people I work with, I didn’t arrive at this work by accident. My approach is shaped by my own journey through:
Navigating chronic pain and nervous system dysregulation
Living with neurodivergence and exploring creative expression as a self-regulatory tool
Working in wilderness programs, art education, and mental health support settings
Finding healing in quiet spaces, sustainable materials, and connection to the land
These experiences aren’t just part of my story — they are what keep my practice honest, grounded, and human. I know how valuable it is to be met without judgment, to move at your own pace, and to be given tools that adapt to your body and your life.
I create spaces that are gentle, flexible, and responsive, because I’ve been where my clients are — and I still walk that path. I am here to empower you in your holistic pain management journey.
Experience transformative healing through nature-based recreation therapy tailored for your well-being.
